This past year’s treasure trove of comic book turned movies and tv series have got me hooked. And, tops on the list (well, behind Black Panther) is Netflix’s Luke Cage. After binge watching the debut season, I have been (sort of) patiently waiting for the next installment. I wish the new Defenders release earlier this month had held me over, but it really just left me with all sorts of questions. Like ,why the hell did Misty Knight have to lose her arm (comic book heads don’t revolt against me — I didn’t look up her story until this weekend.)
Anyway, if you skipped over the latest Marvel offering on Netflix, then you missed actress Simone Missick getting her arm sliced clean off during a battle with the Hand’s Bakuto character. In the series finale, she’s seen recovering in a hospital owned by that annoying ass Iron Fist aka Danny Rand while talking to Colleen.
Ass of Tuesday, Misty’s got a brand new bionic one via a new promo still released for season two of Luke Cage. She sports the new techie superhero arm while walking alongside Luke in a parking garage. No word yet on how she gets her arm in the series. In the comics, it was designed by Tony Stark (Iron Man!) and Stark Industries, but in the Defenders‘ finale it was Danny Rand who offered to hook her up.
Either way, I’m looking forward to seeing what new levels of crime-fighting the new bionic Misty Knight will get into when the new series returns to Netflix in 2018.
